Through home visits, mobile community events and radio discussions, our HIV Prevention Among Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) initiative has reached a major milestone: 2,000 young women educated on HIV prevention across Kabarole, Fort-Portal and Bunyangabu districts.
Of these, 1,000 received HIV counselling and testing, and 200 were successfully linked to HIV/AIDS care and treatment. Additional activities include distribution of educational materials, STI screening, promotion of female condom use, and index testing partnerships with healthcare facilities.
The goal is clear — reduce new HIV infections and increase access to quality care for those most at risk.
